Do I Need to Attend a Luxury Rehab Center to Recover from Addiction?
Luxury rehab centers are commonly offered throughout the country, but are they really a necessary element of recovery? Can you recovery without the help of a luxury program?
The Short Answer
Though these treatment facilities can be wonderful for many reasons and may help a great number of people relax enough to feel comfortable in their rehab center, there are plenty of programs that provide treatment at a lower cost and are still immensely effective.
According to the NIDA, “Treatment should include both medical and mental health services as needed.” The most commonly used treatment options for addiction recovery are pharmacological and therapeutic, as these are the approaches with the most evidence for effectiveness. All programs, regardless of cost, will usually provide these two options to patients, as well as mental and medical health services, which are the most important parts of the treatment.
What if I Can’t Afford Luxury Care?
If you cannot afford to attend treatment at a luxury rehab center, you can still recover fully from your addiction with the help of a less expensive program. There is currently no evidence that executive programs are more effective. However, they can be worth the cost to those who can afford them. Making the Choice
Ultimately, whether or not you go to a luxury rehab center will depend on a number of factors that are unique to your own personal needs and abilities. For some, luxury treatment seems like the only plausible answer when it comes to entering a residential treatment facility. Likewise, for those who have little money or are uninsured, luxury rehab may seem very far out of reach.
Here are a few things to consider before you decide whether you MUST have luxury rehab or not:
- ANY treatment that you receive in a professional program, luxury or not, is better than not receiving treatment at all.
- Many luxury programs will accept insurance if you have it.
- Luxury treatment is not the only option available—many affordable programs are offered worldwide.
- Just because you don’t go into a luxury program does not mean that you won’t have comforts and many of the same amenities that you are accustomed to at home.
